Rothwell Figg is proud to announce that E. Anthony Figg, Joseph A. Hynds, and R. Danny Huntington were once again selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2018 edition of The Best Lawyers in America©. Additionally, Mr. Figg was named the Best Lawyers® 2018 Litigation – Intellectual Property “Lawyer of the Year” in Washington, D.C. This is the third year Mr. Figg has been recognized as the “Lawyer of the Year” in a practice area.

First acknowledged by Best Lawyers in 2008, Mr. Figg has been named “Lawyer of the Year” in Washington, D.C., in the areas of Intellectual Property Law, Litigation – Patent, and Litigation – Intellectual Property in 2011, 2013, and 2018, respectively. The “Lawyer of the Year” accolade is awarded to one individual in each specialty and location with the highest overall peer feedback. Mr. Figg is also recognized in the 2018 edition in the areas of Litigation – Patent, Patent Law, and Trademark Law. Mr. Figg’s practice focuses on patent litigation and inter partes matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), appeals, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), patent procurement, intellectual property licensing and related contract matters, opinions, and counseling. His work primarily involves the chemical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and biotechnology industries.

Mr. Hynds is named in the practice areas of Litigation - Intellectual Property, Litigation – Patent, and Patent Law in the 2018 edition. He was first listed in Best Lawyers in 2010. Mr. Hynds has been practicing across the full spectrum of intellectual property law at Rothwell Figg for over 25 years with a focus on patent infringement litigation. He has particular expertise in Hatch-Waxman litigation and related issues, having litigated more than 50 Hatch-Waxman cases and in many, serving as lead trial counsel. He also has participated in numerous appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Hynds handles cases covering a broad range of pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, telecommunications, chemical, e-commerce, and electrical technologies, among others.

Mr. Huntington, first listed in Best Lawyers in 2007, is recognized in the 2018 edition in the practice areas of Biotechnology Law, Litigation – Intellectual Property, Litigation – Patent, and Patent Law. Mr. Huntington is involved in all phases of intellectual property law, including United States and foreign patent prosecution, litigation in the federal courts, licensing, and general client counseling. He has extensive experience with patent interferences and inter partes proceedings at the Patent Office, with particular expertise in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Huntington is a former chemist for The Gillette Research Institute.
